Known Issues

WORK IN PROGRESS - Please understand that we are actively rewriting much of our documentation and this page is currently "under construction"; if there's anything that you'd like to see added to and/or expanded upon, please let us know by sending us a smile.

This document exists to cover any issues that we know currently exist with or in relation to our software.

Windows

I've lost the icon for RadioTraffic.com from my desktop; how do I fix this?

You can replace the icon by using the Windows "appsfolder"... to do so, use the WIN+R hotkey combination to open the Windows "Run" dialog and type "shell:appsfolder" (without quotes) and click the OK button. This will open the "Applications" folder where you can scan through to find "RadioTraffic.com" in the list. Once found, right click on this entry and use one of the tools provided to put the icon where you desire.

For completeness, following are some of the technical details regarding the "link" that is within the Start Menu. The actual file location should be here:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\RadioTraffic.com

The file that launches the product is:

RadioTraffic.com.appref-ms

And the contents of this file looks something like:

http://traf.com/downloads/client45/RadioTraffic.application#RadioTraffic.application,
Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=5391f206d04f4ea3, processorArchitecture=msil

On Windows XP, the Arial font is missing.

This is an issue caused, most likely, by the recent uninstalling of other software. We do not, in any way, modify the Microsoft Windows installation. In other word, installing and uninstalling our software will NOT modify your Microsoft Windows environment in any way, shape, form or fashion.

Third-Party Products

Chrome

Why do you require Microsoft Edge or Microsoft Internet Explorer to install?

We have encountered repeated issues where downloading the setup.exe maybe presenting problems based on the current security settings imposed by Chrome. As Microsoft Edge and Microsoft Internet Explorer have complete compatibility with ClickOnce (the installation tool we utilize), there are no issues.

TeamViewer

Why will the radiotraffic.exe process not shut down?

When exiting RadioTraffic the process in Task Manager does not stop preventing you from starting a new instance of RadioTraffic. You can either stop using TeamViewer or you can hold the Windows Key on you keyboard and the R key. In the Run window paste the following:

taskkill /IM radiotraffic.exe

CS Please note that we've attempted several times (and continue to do so) to get a response from TeamViewer as to why this is happening as it only appears to be happening with TeamViewer and we've received little to no response from them as to the cause. At this time all we can do is provide a work around if you need to continue to utilize TeamViewer.

Antivirus/Firewall

It may be necessary to disable your Antivirus utility temporarily before attempting the upgrade. The need for this depends on the configuration of your Antivirus utility and other factors; however, with that said, we've seen that this needs to be done pretty often... especially with particular vendors versus others. Click the respective link for the Antivirus utility you are running. Please remember to re-enable your Antivirus after successfully upgrade.
