EditAdding a Pre-payment
Navigate to: Accounts Receivable > customer’s name > Add Payment > enter amount and reference information.
Then go to: Reports > Payment
EditRevenue Source
When pre-payments are made, reports will show the revenue source as “unknown” until that payment is applied to an invoice. Pre-payments do not take on a revenue source until it’s applied to the invoice. It is marked as cash in the account to prevent incorrect reporting prior to invoicing.
Note: By previously allowing a revenue source to be applied to a pre-payment, RadioTraffic was erroneously skewing reports for accounting - but
not traffic - purposes. This ONLY applies to pre-payments.
EditRevenue Type
If the Revenue Type is “Unknown,” troubleshoot the customer’s billing default value.
Navigate to: Accounts Receivable > customer’s name > right click > Open > Billing tab > Revenue Type.
If the Revenue Type in the customer’s profile is set to “None,” it will reflect “Unknown” in the A/R payment report. Change this to Cash, and the Revenue Type will reflect that in your reports.
Note: The wording in the customer area is now “owner,” rather than “sales person.” The owner owns the customer and whatever is associated with it. When you enter a customer’s pre-payment, it takes on the behavior of the owner.
EditReporting
Pre-payments can be easily identified on the aging report.
Pre-payments appear on the commission report once they are applied to the invoice. This is intentional to reduce or eliminate chargebacks to sales people.
